Whether at home in your lodge or not too far away, choice of activities are abound when enjoying the Stowford life. The area has long been known as a surfer’s paradise with the best conditions to be found at Croyde, Woolacombe and Westward Ho! For the novice there are many schools available, sailing and wind surfing clubs can also be found nearby.
For the even more adventurous the River Torridge offers the facility for canoeing or kayaking, alternatively trout and salmon fishing can also be found on the Torridge or why not take a boat trip to try your hand with Sea Bass fishing.

North Devon’s plentiful countryside and rugged coastline is also an ideal location for quad biking, abseiling, rock climbing and hang gliding. There is beauty inland too. On the Exmoor National Park you can lose yourself among the heather and the legends. Alternatively book a horse ride to explore the local “Tarka Trail”, as made famous by Henry Williamson. Horse owners can even choose to take part or full livery at our new purpose built on site riding centre.
